Aiming high-quality timber 200 years from now
Yoshino Forestry aims to produce beautiful, high-quality timber when it is harvested 100 or 200 years from now.
Therefore, from the time of planting, the wood is grown and nurtured over time and with great care for generations to come.
Yoshino wood is characterized by the following three points.
- The annual rings are uniform in width and high dense (and therefore stronger than of other regions).
- Less distortion of the shape, close to a perfect circle.
- The “pruning” process when the trees are young allows us to get neat, knot-free, good-looking planks of wood when the logs are bucked.
This is the reason why Yoshino’s wood is considered to be the best in Japan.
