Sustainable forestry for over 300 years
More than 300 years ago from now, the people of Yoshino Forest have been planting trees, managing and nurturing them, cutting them down, using them, and planting them again.
Through this cycle, people have maintained “carefully managed and sustainable Yoshino forests” for generations.
In Yoshino, Japan’s oldest man-made forest, which was planted about 300 years ago, remains today, creating a beautiful forest rich in biodiversity.
